The Road Ahead - Release, Roadmap and Pricing

First of all, we want to thank you for 5000 wishlist additions!
This means a lot to us and motivates us to keep going. The Open World Survival Crafting Fest and the Steam Next Fest were successful promotional events that brought us many new players who tested our demo. This resulted in many bug fixes, especially in so-called edge cases, meaning errors in situations that rarely occur. We also received many improvement suggestions, which we have discussed both internally and with you.

Even though we had a specific internal plan, many goals for the future were still vague. Therefore, we have, together with you, determined which feature packages should be completed before the release and created a roadmap. We also considered how we could monetize our game to ensure continued development.

Roadmap

Electricity Update

- Implement power generators
- Electric lights
- Satoshi miners
- Some more gadgets

Animal Taming Update

- Adding tameable creatures with unique abilities

Raid Kits Update

- Create specialized equipment sets for different raiding strategies
- Balance raid kits for fair and exciting gameplay

Cosmetic Skins Update

- Design a variety of skins for characters and equipment

Multiple Maps and Biomes Update

- Develop distinct maps, each featuring unique challenges
- Create diverse biomes

All added features will not be feature-complete but will lay the foundation for more content to be added. The scheduled release is Friday, the 13th of December. What could go wrong?

Early Access and Pricing

After nearly two years of development, we will have implemented a large portion of the planned features and plan to go into Early Access. We see this step as essential to improve the quality and quantity of content. Before the release, we will release a post-release roadmap that will outline the path to version 1.0 and hint at what content is planned afterward. Since PvE content is very time-consuming to develop, we have decided to postpone much of it until next year and focus on PvP content until the release.

As an indie game studio, it is very difficult to release a multiplayer game because you compete not only with other small indie studios but also with large studios with major titles. Most large multiplayer games are therefore free and are financed through expensive skins, pay-to-win elements, pointless in-game currencies, and unnecessary battle passes.
And believe us, we hate these mechanisms as much as you do and still fall for them often enough. That is why we have decided on a model that will be attractive to you and still cover the development costs.
We will start Early Access with a Free to Play model. Additionally, there will be a DLC that will unlock additional non-gameplay relevant content. This will include unlocking skins and the ability to host additional maps or game modes - joining a server with additional content will still be free. With a low, fair price, we want to ensure that as many players as possible can afford this upgrade and support us.

So far, these are the current plans. Of course, these can still change, so please don't be mad at us if they do.
What is your opinion on this?

Thank you for reading.
